Each taco is crafted with the finest ingredients, and we highly recommend trying their celebrated barbacoa tacos served with rich, flavorful consome. The tender, flavorful meat is perfectly wrapped in homemade blue corn tortillas, making for a meal that is both satisfying and transcendent. Customer reviews echo this sentiment, highlighting the intense, rich flavors and the myriad of textures that celebrate the culinary traditions of Mexico.
Don't miss out on their suadero tacos and the classic el pastor, featuring juicy, marinated pork complemented by sweet grilled pineapple. This balance of flavors is why diners like Greg Wilkerson have likened them to the unforgettable tacos enjoyed in the bustling streets of Mexico City. For those seeking something different, the quesadilla and puerco tacos are hailed as must-tries that promise to elevate your dining experience.
The beverage selection at Tacos El Metro is equally impressive. With a fully stocked bar, guests can indulge in refreshing margaritas or choose from a variety of bottled Mexican beers. The Mondayrita special is a perfect companion to your tacos, boasting only the finest ingredients while keeping the flavors bright and enjoyable.

“ There’s a massive difference between having a meal, and having a meaningful culinary experience. Walking into Tacos el Metro on Walnut Hill immediately makes you feel right at home. The theme is Mexico City subway, and a huge map is the first thing you see; I could actually show my wife my old subway stop and then memories just hit you squarely. With great expectations, we ordered the barbacoa tacos with consome; the flavor intense, the rich sauce, embracing, and the blue corn tortillas wrapping the soft, flavorful barbacoa meat, 10/10 so far. Then we just had a tour of tacos, including suadero, rib eye carne asada, pastor and even a tostada de tinga. One after another our taste was inundated with complex, yet delicate textures from the different tacos, like flowing down a trajinera in Texcoco on a bright Sunday afternoon. We are true converts to this place now and promise to come back many a time in the future! ”
“ This was our first experience at Tacos El Metro. This casual setting is more than meets the eye. The top shelf margaritas were slightly tart, yet flavorful and we're crafted with the perfect amount of tequila. The Suadero tacos reminded me of those prepared in Mexico City, however, the flavors were abundant and the meat was moist...but not from being saturated in lard (they do not cook with lard here). The lean, healthy spin on these tacos were amazing. The El Pastor tacos are authentic, moist, and flavorful. The grilled pineapple was also a nice added touch to the dish. Their selection of bottled Mexican beers was great and the staff was very attentive and professional. This place definitely exceeded our expectations. Nos vamos! ”
“ All I can say is wow!!! The puerco tacos were outstanding, the huesitos very unusual and delicious and the elite ribs were delightful. Also had the queso and it was great. The owner is very personable and very high energy. The huesitos had really nice salsas and the sauces you can use were the best. Definitely a place to go. ”
“ This place is great! Food is awesome... Their version of the quesadilla is the best ever, I won't explain... You just have to try it! Prices are very reasonable and staff are super friendly and Patricia takes good care of you. Owners Sergio and Michael have done a great job giving a new spin on Mexican food. A full bar is available which is great. This is going to be a staple for us when eating out . ”
“ Really lovely small spot for street style tacos. Surprisingly, the fish taco was the best! Chicken was easy for lunch and the el pastor pork is very balanced with some delicious grilled pineapple. Great balance of flavors. Nice spot for a quick lunch! Clean and friendly staff. The sauces are a bit spicy, so go light if you cannot handle it! ”
“ Just found our new favorite Mexican restaurant. Amazing atmosphere, clean, modern and spacious, with a legit Mexican menu. A happy family broke out a guitar and started singing for everyone. Couldn't have asked for a better experience! We got tacos, tostadas, Mexican style quesadilla and the pozole special which was delicious! ”
“ The service is amazing, Food was 100% authentic and great flavor. I came from Fort Worth. I would definitely come back and recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for good food and great service. ”
“ Best tacos with a welcoming atmosphere. Good food good drinks. Glad this place opened up in the neighborhood. ”
